Penca Azul is produced out of Tequila Parrenita by the Ruiz family, who claim a 100 year heritage stretching back to the “early 1900s” of tequila making. Their yeast used in the fermentation process is said to give the tequila a unique taste. Tequila Parrenita produces several labels of tequila including Don Tacho, El Mascarillo, Escondido, Parrenita, and Penca Azul among others.
Penca Azul Reposado Tequila Tasting Notes
Nose: Medium oak wood, vanilla and raisins with faint hint of citrus.
Palate: Smooth and sweet. Distinct oak wood complemented by vanilla, raisins and honey, with a hint of melon.
Finish: Caramel and smoky notes.
