Description

Detailed DescriptionIt isn’t often that you will find a Scotch whisky finished in Port Wine casks, but that is just what is done here. The Port Wine casks, or pipes as they are called, are much larger than a standard barrel with the former yielding close to 500 liters and the latter only 120 liters. Port Wine provides a fruit filled profile and will present a pink tint to the dram.Cragganmore Distillers Edition 2020 Bottling Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting NotesNose: Notes of malt and oak alongside subtle smoky undertones.Palate: A rich and sweet expression, with plenty body and hints of the port casks. Prominent dried fruits and honey in the finish.Finish: Dry finish with fine expressions of oakiness.Distillery InformationSituated in the Speyside region of Scotland, the Cragganmore Distillery was founded by John Smith in 1870. Smith heralded from a dynastic whisky family — his family had previously been involved in the operation of the Macallan, Glenfarclas and Glenlivet distilleries, and he was related to George Smith, the founder of the Glenlivet Distillery.
