At some point during the 2000s, Lot 40 Rye was discontinued, which caused quite a stir among whisky enthusiasts who considered it to be one of the best Canadian whiskies out there. Nose: Earthy rye kicks in right away, backed up by caramel, fig and flamed orange peel.
Palate: Softly floral as it opens, leading into cardamom pod and peppery coriander. Crunchy brown sugar and fresh vanilla pod sweetness.
Finish: Classic rye spiciness lingers.
