This Mars Komagatake Double Cask is a stunning release from one of Japan’s leading whisky producers that is made up from marrying two single casks of bourbon matured whisky, one which was peated to 20ppm and the other to 50ppm. It’s a fruity and sweet whisky with notes of peat smoke that build in the background, balancing out some of the sweeter notes. Limited to 466 bottles, it’s collectable as well as delicious.

Nose: Nose is complex yet not overwhelming.
Palate: A splendid taste with a warm feel to it. Not to smoky but silky smooth.
Finish: The finish is surprisingly long and warming.
